Josh Evans is a Sydney indie/folk rock artist. He writes music centred around big emotions and big moments in life. 2026 has been his busiest year yet, putting out three singles and gearing up for the release of his debut EP.

She’s So was released in April, launched with a sold-out headliner at Buddy’s in Newtown accompanied by a successful tour along the Australian East Coast playing from Finnians Tavern in Port Macquarie down to Dulcies Cottage in Merimbula. Since then he has continued his live momentum playing at venues such as Oxford Art Factory, Waywards Ballroom, Metro Social and Felons Barrel Room. Bent Out came in July, a song about the gap between who you are and who you want to be. Car followed in August.  Both of these singles were celebrated by taking to the Sydney music scene, interviews on local radio stations, charity events and landing on multiple significant support bills, playing shows with acts such as Cheeky Leash, Betty Taylor, Civic Video and Lazy Haze.

Josh’s latest single, Above the hook, is about not letting go of the people who are good for you. It will be launched at The Vic on the Park, alongside a Melbourne show at The Espy in St Kilda. It's the last single ahead of his debut EP, out in November, which will be launched at Waywards Ballroom!

With comparisons to acts such as Sam Fender, The Vanns, DJO and Gang of Youths, Josh Evans is one to watch in Australian music.
